Informed consent, signed from the phone

No treatment starts without informed consent, and in almost every clinic it's still a printed sheet signed at reception in a hurry that ends up in a folder. When you need to show it, you have to go looking for it.

In ClaudIA the text is written once — what is done, what risks it carries, what the patient accepts — and assigned to the treatments that need it. From the patient's record you prepare theirs, already with their name, and send them the link over WhatsApp. They open it with the last four digits of their phone, read it and sign with their name and a checkbox.

What's stored isn't an 'accepted': it's the text exactly as they read it, with its version and fingerprint, the date, the time, the IP and the browser. The PDF is generated when needed. If the text changes, the version goes up and what was already signed still stands for what was signed.

And the before-and-after photos: the ones the patient sends over WhatsApp are marked and kept on their record, by date. In a clinic those photos are health data, which is why they're not saved without a signed consent from that person: the system checks it, not anyone's memory.

How it works

  1. The consent is written in Services and assigned to the treatments that need it.
  2. From the patient's record you prepare it and copy the private link, which expires after 30 days.
  3. The patient opens it with the last four digits of their phone, reads it and signs from their phone.
  4. The PDF, with the exact text and its fingerprint, comes from the record; photos are marked as 'before' or 'after'.
The afternoon before the treatment
The patient has the treatment on Thursday. On Wednesday the clinic sends the link over WhatsApp; he reads it at home, calmly, and signs in a minute. On Thursday, at reception, there's no paper to look for: the consent is on his record, with the exact time he signed.
