Morning and afternoon shifts that change by themselves

In many clinics the team doesn't always work the same hours: one week the dentist sees patients in the morning and the next in the afternoon, and the hygienist does the opposite. Redoing the schedule every Monday is a job nobody wants, and the day it's forgotten, a patient gets an appointment with a dentist who isn't in.

With rotating shifts, the rotation is set up once. You create the shifts with their hours, say how many weeks the cycle repeats over and which shift each person works each week. From then on ClaudIA only offers each professional the hours of their shift that week, and the diary shades out what isn't theirs.

One-off changes are noted with their date: two dentists swapping shifts, someone working a full day on a particular date. Holidays and absences still take priority, and anyone outside the rotation keeps their usual hours.

How it works

  1. In Team, Shifts tab, you create the shifts with their hours: for example, morning and afternoon.
  2. You say how many weeks the cycle repeats over and who is on mornings this week.
  3. You mark who rotates and which shift they work each week; everyone else keeps their hours.
  4. Before saving you see the next eight weeks: exactly what ClaudIA will offer.
The week nobody checked the rota
Dr Ruiz sees patients in the morning on odd weeks and in the afternoon on even ones. One Sunday night, a patient asks for an appointment on Tuesday at ten. ClaudIA offers that dentist's hours for that week, when she is on afternoons, and books the patient at half past five. Nobody had to remember to change the schedule.
